Your saw will be out of warranty before the unit breaks assuming you are not using it daily. I added the conversion kit and find it to be amazing. Not worth the extra $$$ for the better saw.

The conversion is pretty easy to undo if you have issues. I used Scotch Lock splice connectors that barely made a mark on the OEM wiring....

I'll echo this. I was helping my father install vinyl flooring and his dewalt didn't have it. Wasn't hard to line up cuts but its just so much easier with the light.

Just got the Rigid Stand and DWS779 for combined $450. I think that's a better deal. Both still available. This is pretty good too though.

In 2019 there was a much better deal for a 779, which is almost the same model, around 350 bucks including the stand. Hopefully they will replicate it around Black Friday
