Remember when people used to make fun of preppers? That was cute. Now you're starving and homeless. Enjoy the 1000% price increase and 500% inflation rate.

I've had these before for hiking. They're good. This price is OK, but not awesome.

The #10 can (at least for Beef Stroganoff) is slightly cheaper, and you can scoop portions into your own vacuum-seal bags to cook them in on the go. It's a shame these pouches are so expensive now.

Mountain House has the list price as $109.99 currently. I don't know if it was always that list price and just got heavily discounted prior to 2020, or the list price was lower prior to 2020, but now...

Right, the classic bucket. I haven't seen that price before 2020, but then I haven't been checking all the time, just not seeing the slickdeals come up.

if you're talking about the classic bucket, they're been around $40-$60 range depending on sales for pretty much all of the 2010s. I didn't notice a price spike until spring of 2020. $100-ish is the...

I’ve bought my mom a 12 pouch bucket every Christmas since 2014. They’ve always been between $50 and $60. The buckets are going for $104 now.

The price went up before that. I don't know when the re-design happened, perhaps it went up after that.

You skipped 2020 did you? C19 happen. People got scared and wiped out supply causing prices to shoot up. Mountain House isn't able to produce these in the scale needed to satisfy the demand.

Serving sizes got smaller after the package re-design. A lot of people need more than 500/600 calories per package while hiking.
