Anything up to 1Gbps Ethernet is fine on cat 5e. Heck I’m running 1Gbps on some 4 pair comm wire that was installed in my house in 1983 for phones (not sure what it is - it seems similar to Cat5)....

Exactly. My house is all 5E and I have some long runs and I push big files around my network on the regular at gig speeds and have no need to change out my cabling.

I have cat5e but it works just fine at 10gbps with not a single issue. The main concern is going to be the length of the run and cable gauge. I’ve got a 10 meter or so run with a 24AWG cat 5e cable.

I love monoprice. I just request replacement cables all the time even when I don’t need them. Their warranty is awesome.

What's the best way to wrap these thinner cables to shorten them without breaking them or creating interference?

We've been using these for a while now. If they're left alone, they're great cables. If they're used somewhere that will be frequently bumped/pulled/etc like a comm room, they are a little more...

just be aware these wont likely work well for poe devices.

The great thing about category cable is that nothing magical is going on. Current capacity for PoE can be determined my wire gage. Voltage droop for PoE can be determined by run length and wire gage....

That minimum length is for active devices. These are meant for patch panels and is good for that. I considered that minimum length recommendation when I bought the 3' cables to connect between the...

Not to delve to far into semantics, but that's the first time I've seen 'cannot' used to mean anything other than impossible. Would I run 10G over CAT5e in an enterprise environment? Never. Have...

I didn't state it was impossible ... I said it is not IAW code and not to be done. There are reasons these codes have been set. People that do things like this are the reason I made a great living...
