I own this one, haven't tried the Sony in full disclosure. From all my reading, this is the one to get especially if you care about the microphone. The Sony's mic is terrible sounding by comparison....

They dropped the 7’s in 2016. It is true that this past October this version came out - and I think it’s just white to match the PS5. Don’t know if any tech improvements.
