There was a massive class action lawsuit against LG over the compressor in their fridges. I've had mine repaired 4 times in 5 years. Enough said. LG fridgess = automatic down vote.

Thats what the tech told me when I got the diagnosis on my old Kenmore Elite. Compressor technology isn't different, its just improved on all the mistakes LG made before.
