I have the previous gen but I don't think this is much better other than slightly better cpu. I think the main issue is the 2gb ram. It really slows down to a crawl when you have more than a few apps...

The reason many people buy this Fire tablet is BECAUSE it can play decent videos. Like those Lenovo tabs which also can't play in HD.....no point in buying any of them.
