I agree that the MT8183 is close to the SnapDragon 662 or even the 660.
But the SnapDragon 662 and the MT8183 is to slow of a CPU (IMHO) to buy today on a device UNLESS the device is CHEAP CHEAP...

Yes, it works as a phone but has VERY FEW US cell bands. So I would not count on it. But if you do visit Asia... you can then use it as a phone.
