Based on all those consumer reviews there is no such thing as a 100% refundable trip with this company unless one is willing to spend hours on the phone and weeks and months trying to get the credit...

This isn't true, when you buy things that have a future date. A chargeback can be initiated based on the expected date of the event. I worked in chargebacks and had this happen for fraudulent concert...

Ridiculously hard to get a reasonable flight to the island. Pass because of that. Basically no airlines except Sri Lanka air flies into there.
