You would only be able to fully utilize 1.2 Gb if you pair MB8611 with a Router with 2.5 Gb WAN port. If the price is same then I recommend keeping MB8611 for future proofing... I am upgrading...

Honestly any DOCSIS 3.0 modem rated at 600 mbps or higher will be fine. I know some modems had a chipset issue that caused latency, but I don't remember the exact name of the issue offhand.

I'd definitely avoid paying this much if you're only running 2-400mb. Spectrum is moving to a fiber build-out, so a few years down the line, they won't be using modems at all. We're on the verge of...

I have the 8600. The thing is rock solid. This is the same thing but with the 2.5gbps ethernet port. This will be great in 2-3 years. Most people do not have 2.5gbps ethernet ports on their laptops...
