I dunno where my LFS gets their guppies, but whenever I try, I end up losing them all within two weeks... yet I have significantly more delicate species thriving in other tanks with the same water...

I wouldn’t buy any fish that took 30 minutes to catch. That fish is going to be so stressed out I doubt it makes it a week in the new tank :(
