You can just connect the dual band router with the existing cable modem using a Gigabit Ethernet Cable and configure it with a separate name and SSID and you will be all set.

This laptop has 1 antenna supporting 1 data stream, unless you can prove otherwise. So unless you plan to rip apart the screen bezel to add another, you will be limited regardless. :bulb:

The WI-Fi chip is not soldered and down the line you can spend $20 to upgrade the network card to a Wi-Fi 6 card, when you are ready to upgrade to a WI-Fi 6 router. Does that sounds to much for you?
