Yeah, I ended up buying off one of those other threads for $167 after tax for the Verizon version based off others saying the same thing. What version of firmware is that?

That said, in other threads for Pixel 3 / 3XL it was reported that Verizon unlocked version can actually be bootloader unlocked if you pop out the Verizon SIM card before first boot. I'm typing this...

I think the main draw to having the bootloader unlocked is to install new firmware with up-to-date security features that will not be available once support for the Pixel 3 is discontinued.

that makes no sense. The one at B&H also says unlocked just not "bootloader" unlocked which is the main reason of my question. What is a bootloader and why would people need it
