Are you using the cable that came with it? What size files are you transferring? Why not submit for a replacement if you're really having those issues? Drive seems to be well reviewed and speed tests...

Do not buy this! I have two of these and they get SO hot, no matter what, that they throttle down to 50MB/s or so. Get the SanDisk. I regret buying these.

How's this SSD? I was going to get the Samsung 870 EVO and use it as external drive. None of my devices have USB 3.2, so will I see any benefits in performance?
