Great tip! Have done exactly this at two houses. The trick is having the neutral. Switch only boxes generally don't bring the neutral unless passing it along to another circuit such as an outlet.

I would keep a water leak detector behind the toilet if you're paranoid. Putting the seat down won't save you from water overflowing from the bowl.
