A UPS will not "clean up" dirty power. We use generators and UPS's a lot and most UPS's won't even work on a non-inverter generator, they will just beep/not turn on/run on battery. When using a...

Ya but yours is open frame. They are louder and thus not ideal for camping. 72db vs 61db @ 23 feet is a huge difference. A lot of campgrounds won’t allow something as loud as that.

Thank you for informing me about these "myths." Funny that you mentioned CPAP. We actually have a ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP and Phillips DreamStation Go CPAP. Perhaps someone with your background...

This is the creme de la creme of why urban myths get perpetrated. A little background, i used to design datacenters and have setup lab environments and let me try to dispel horrible myths. First...

Yeah it's called family that doesn't want to leave, otherwise I would've left this shit hole years ago.

California Air Resources Board has special pollution requirements (CARB compliant). They're necessary in a state with such a large population concentrated in a few major metro areas. If you don't...

I got the 8750w inverter model (not dual fuel) for the same price. You can install the dual/tri fuel kit and it has the proper 30a 240v outlet to run your home. Thing is a beast. **Edit** The...

You can connect it to a manual transfer switch (MTS) to your home. There are 120/240v MTS. You just won't be able to power a 240v appliance.

I have researched this some and have found that there are a few. But if you wish to get one that is not in an open frame design and has low db's. Get ready to pay over 2k.

You can connect it to 240 by using an auto transformer.

Great assessment. I would suspect inverter generators don't tend to be 240v, making them less useful for whole house use as you stated.

Anybody know if you can convert the non-dual fuel Champion generator that is around this wattage to dual or tri fuel? I found all kinds of conversion kits for other models, but not this one I picked...

Doesn't make much sense to me either. This thing needs a 240v 50amp receptacle. Overkill for a 30amp RV, no plug for a 50amp RV, and can only feed 3600watts and one hot leg as a backup generator. ...

I love that CA gets it's own notice that it's not for sale in this retarded state.

There are alot more people in the market for generators than just those in hurricane areas. The price may drop, but there's not going to be as steep of a seasonal drop off.

i would never trust my emergency power needs in a product made by a company that is only willing to guarantee their product for 90 days, unless i pay them another $250'ish to extend that guarantee ...

Cabelas/Bass Pro had this on sale 4-5 weeks ago for $849. The 4500 and 4600w versions are more efficient IMO for nominally less power

Gotcha, but is the close one quiet enough for camping? Am just after the clean power so I dont have to think about plugging in my mining rig and other electronic stuff when the power goes down.
