Two years ago I picked up a 70" Sony 830F for $1,000 a d it's been the best TV I've ever owned. So...it happens. But I haven't seen a great sale on a 70" since. 🤷

This is incomplete and really just unhelpful. Good LED TVs are brighter than the best OLEDs. Let that knowledge guide you. If you prefer bright pictures with your hdr, OLEDs just aren’t there...

apparently it’s due to the size sheet of glass they cut tvs from. if they can get 4x85 and 6x65 from a sheet vs 4x75 and 7x55 it’s all about cost per sheet and yield.

As manufacturing of TVs became more efficient, over time the bezels became thinner and the panels became larger... So the standardization changed... 50" became 55"... 60" to 65"... 70" to 75" etc......

Comparing an OLED TV to an LED tv is like comparing a Bentley to a Toyota. Sure, both can be nice, but the nicest Toyota won't come near the baseline Bentley.
