The only flaw of your guide is it shows the maximum speed.
In reality you can end up with cheap cables that comply with those standards connector pins but really can't match the speed.

Thanks, unfortunately a 10GBps cable. Fine for 99 percent of uses, of course, but Apple M1 machines are notoriously finicky about cables.
