Sitting on close to 1m Avios. Agree on the LHR taxes being obscene. And their partner award availability is not easy to find either.

Yes, they use Avios as well, but you can transfer directly into AerClub without going through BA.

With Amex, you can transfer directly into Aer Lingus. If you already have Avios, you have to link your Avios to your AerClub account and then transfer from the Avios site. It's 1:1 for Avios into...

Avios is one of the worst programs. Very limited availability, plus fees for international travel via London as mentioned above.
Can be good for travel within Europe from London.
