You also lose the 100$ trade in promotion. So if they gave 700 for trading A12 pro, they will put 600 on a gift card to be used on the new purchase. Better off selling it privately

Contact them thr Twitter and give them the IMEI, then they will unlock for you and it take 2-3 days for unlock process.

With ATT there is some sort of weird mandatory waiting period for unlocking, even with fully paid iPhones. It’s either 30 or 90 days. I’m sure you could Google it to find out. Not sure that explains...
