Old timer here too. If you're doing this much work on trees, I'd stick with gas. You already have the gear and tools and know how to properly mix and store fuel. Battery powered ones are nice...

You're right - they are around ~$20 new on craigslist. So, not sure this battery is worth $100, but I haven't looked up prices on these. Still don't need another charger, even if it is worth $20.
