I have a note 20 ultra. All I did was open the Bluetooth setting on my phone and open the ear buds lid on the charging case and they instantly saw each other and all is well.

Thats how replacements generally work. Even apple wont replace your Airpods in advance without inspecting them first unless you have AppleCare.

Arrived with 97/94% battery, already on latest firmware, and running AAC mode on Android (although absurdly high latency on AAC). I'm pleasantly surprised regardless of the deal price.

Charge them up and try again. Mine worked out of the box. Turned my Bluetooth on and it recognized the buds. I have an essential ph1 for reference

Anyway to change control configuration if I only have iPhone? Just want to be able to pause/resume the play by tap the buds, instead of removing the buds from your ear.
