Most have plastic tires at this price. For $40, you can head down to Tractor Supply and pickup a couple real pneumatic tires. Might need an axle too.

yeah, from what I can tell in the picture, the spreader is motorized by the wheel, the wheel is motorized by your hand , you need to push. aka "hand motorized".

Plastic wheels are terrible. Probably better than a Scotts spreader though. At least it won't leave fertilizer lines.

Pneumatic tire or solid rubber is always preferred. They works very well on wet grass. Some Home depot have a Scotts Elite on clearance recently, it could be as low as $26.
