Allow me to reiterate using an hdmi adapter for wii. Not ideal for older consoles, but works well for the wii and the wii can in turn emulate said older consoles.

Ugh, for some reason that $6 rca adapter wouldn't give video from the several RCA devices I tried. I think I'm going to have to find a different one elsewhere.

Just FYI I use an hdmi adapter for wii and I think it's super worth it. Better compatibility of course but also pushes more games into progressive scan which makes use of the best resolution...

You might consider upgrading your components if they are still using RCA connections. Otherwise there are RCA to HDMI converters if you insist on using your old components. They run around $12-15...
