Yes. SATA is around 550mb/s nvme ones like this should do between 1000 and 1300mb/s. Btw if anyone has an Xbox one this is something you should do. Made a world of difference on my One X. I just...

You're probably right about it being powerful enough now, but maybe they won't be down the road. I don't know. But as far as using this with Xbox for storage or to play older games, do you mean with...

Well gen 3 will work with the series x, just not to play series x games. But again they are plenty powerful enough. Which is all I was reacting to. They won't work for next gen games but they are...

And if you buy it from Amazon there's a good chance the Crucial sticker was put on some cheap, Chinese RAM.

I didn't specify whether the limitations were due to technical reasons or because of decisions by Microsoft and/or Sony. In any event, Gen 3 devices will not work with these devices because they're...

That's nonsense. Nothing to do with powerful enough. This absolutely would be powerful enough to run next gen console games which are no more demanding than anything PC has been playing for the last...

Right, Crucial waited until the review sites published their benchmarks indicating it was a surprisingly fast drive and therefore recommending it. Then they replaced the NAND with much slower QLC,...

Not bad read speed, my WD Black 750 reads around 3400, paid around $100 about 2 yrs. ago. Never fails me on MS FS 2020, never stutters with scenery maxed out, pure performance.

Unfortunately, no. The reason they are fast is partly due to the interface. You may as well get a SATA 2.5" SSD to use in an enclosure. That will be faster than a spinner HDD at least.

USB 3 enclosures will be limited to 500MB/s or 1GB/s depending if they’re gen 1 or gen 2. Thunderbolt enclosures exist that can get up to 4GB/s which is higher than this drive’s rating but those...

P5 has DRAM cache and faster rated speed. For $6 more it’s a no brainer to get P5 instead of P2. The only reason to get P2 is if you used it in a low power device and want battery life over speed.

Can you use this type of SSD in an external case and get the same performance? I mean one of those drive enclosures with the USB-C cable. Thanks!

This drive will not work for either Xbox Series X or the PS5, but for different reasons. For PS5, it needs to be Gen 4 and this is not. For Xbox, they have an expansion slot on the outside, but you...
