Same here. Setup was easy, and pleasantly surprised that I can use Bluetooth to connect to my TV (and don't need to use any of the included cables).

You definitely can through Optical, my 5 year old LG soundbar with no HDMI lets me control volume through tv remote, even Fire tv remote.

Iโ€™m rarely a fan of protection plans and always assume the risk. But I also typically donโ€™t like refurbs either, so for a deal like this, I donโ€™t mind throwing $4 down for the ability get fifty bones...

no it does not but an optical cable will sound just as good when comparing to a hdmi cable. you can't tell an audible difference.

it has an auto detect feature that automatically turns on when detecting an audio signal. i know that it does have an auto off feature if its not being used for a period of time as well.
