I've noticed there is a difference in aluminum quality. Empire and Milwaukee are easily dented compared to Swanson or Johnson.

These are speed/carpetenter square. Good for lay out angles for cutting studs, stringers, etc. Not designed for fine woodworking, not to say to calibrate 90 degree -- bet on those $50-$150 squares...
