It's a curl bar so yes, it's not long enough or thick enough for other exercises. Just like you wouldn't bench press with a kettlebell. More weight wouldn't open up this unit for more exercises.

Pair with the dumbbells you can do okay though... Also, 120 is more than enough for curls, shoulders, biceps, lunges, stiff legged deadlifts off the top of my head...

Unless you do a lot of curls, raises, possess and lunges with weights within 80lb range this is such a novelty item for the price. And I own bowflex and powerblock dumbbells.
