I contacted woot to see what they have to say. I added the surface duo to my Microsoft account and see that the warranty is good till July of next year.

I see your point that it can do some things better than it's functionality as a phone but I wouldn't say it's a great e-reader for text. An e-ink display is much nicer for reading and they are cheap...

Depends on what you’re using it for. As a phone, yeah, not very good. As an e reader it’s pretty great, as a portable emulator its also pretty great (think giant DS).
