Got these setup last night, no issue at all. Yes you do need to unplug it to scan the code but once plugged back on it works. It's so much easier I could just turn on my receiver and stream music.

I am running 12 of them with homebridge to control them with HomeKit and have yet to have a problem. 3 months using the Kasa app before using homebridge. Using a separate Unifi AP for the plugs.

I do have iOS. I had the kasa app setup with the other non HomeKit smart plugs and they worked fine. I keep getting that 2.4 gz error as others mentioned in the earlier posts.
