If you want more detail in the upper mids and treble then yes, and a bit more soundstage for gaming. Otherwise it's not a huge upgrade. I don't regret grabbing them despite having 6XX's.

$99 Atom amp from jds labs gets glowing review. That’s where I would start first if I i didn’t have any amp. After that when you go higher end, it is more like taste-oriented.

Audiophiles would just buy the 6xx from drop and buy a good amp which will benefit in the long run. There’s a reason why these 660s don’t sell well
