Glad it helped someone. Newer refreshed Thermalright coolers come with LGA1700 support in-box it seems.
Been collecting them since SK-6/AX-7 era.

I agree, keeping it under 160mm seems to be the true advice, I’ve run into one case where the older Hyper 212 didn’t fit with the pointed copper pipes at the top.

Always a good idea to check clearances before buying. But
CM Hyper 212 EVO is 159mm Height (158.5 mm). CM has sold a lot
of these over the last decade. Many Mid-Tower and larger fit them.

At 157mm tall, would not recommend buying this to have on hand for a future build. anything over 150mm tall often won't fit except in pretty large atx cases
