you need to look for it on the top shelf around garden section or clearance. it looks like the newer box but is going to be marked with the old stock #, upc. the section with the logos pictures...

It may not be marked clearance. You have to pay close attention to the model number. Have a worker scan the barcode from brickseek to verify the price and scour the store for your treasure.

xru23 from the recent $200 combo kit last year has the "easy+load" spool, but the arbor is different size. This one I think I'll just live with, throwing more money at it trying to upgrade diminishes...

I believe most lithium batteries would ship around 10% of charge. This is done for both fire safety and store longevity reasons. Lithium batteries don't like to be stored unused at full charge.

Knowing Makita, the slow charger (pretty sure I found it on their site, but don't have the model handy) will treat batteries about the same as the rapid charger in terms of babying them - it works...
