I have not experienced "tons of false alerts,...".

No deal. I bought one like this at northern tool 15 yrs ago for about ten bucks. Itβs still working today. Harbor freight sells a cheap one also I got for my parents that works great.

You make some compelling points but the system you are mentioning is also almost $300. I think most people are going to be more inclined to spend a lot less on a driveway sensor.
