Even before it gets hard from age, cheap tape often is less flexible and doesn't adhere as well as better quality 3M tape (or similar). So yeah, if you want it for actual electrical work, it usually...

I used this tape. It’s absolute crap, but very cheap. I use it to mark connectors and color coordinate to avoid mismatched connections. I put it on my dash to heat up, then tightly wind it over...

Yup. Only Scotch. Also, black can leave a residue over time, but none of the colord tapes do...so I basically only buy the colored tape. Only use black if it MUST be black and I don't care about...

Friends don't let friends use crappy electrical tape. Do yourself a favor and spend a few bucks for a roll of 3M.

Scotch 33+ is the best!

You forgot to mention that cheap tapes don't work well when used as finger bandages. Stretch consistency and breakage predictably are also very important for a electrical tape. Scorch 33+ is...

The wire colors for 277/480V applications (yellow/orange/brown) are different than 120/208/240V applications (blue/red/black).

Hey Sir, what type of tape would you recommend for taping over insulation for outdoor pvc water lines?

Better than the black stuff, or same? But over the years I've found that whenever there's an application that traditionally calls for electrical tape, there's usually a superior if slightly more...

Their are several bad reviews for the electrical tape (the specific product is stated under the username). I believe that UL primarily checks for electrical insulation capabilities and fire...

Some of the reviews confirm what you say, but I'm not sure if those reviews are for the wider tape that isn't listed as "electrical tape". I would hope that any tape that gets UL listing is safe for...

Reviews seem to say it has adhesion issues like other cheap tape. Pass for me. Rather pay a little more for something that will work and last.

Exactly. I hate tape that don't stick to themselves or the glue gets tacky after applying. Might give these a try but lots of review mentioned this problem.

I agree with you. I might add that I use 3M Super 88 electrical tape too. Truly a heavy duty/industrial grade product that is more robust than 33+.
