So I never like to close any tabs... after a while of doing LIGHT TASKS, the machine starts to slow down... at this point I don't know how many tabs I have open. 16GB would alleviate this issue.

unless you are doing some major video editing 8GB RAM for the efficient M1 chip is more than enough for 95% of people. please don't confuse people with misinformation.
