Theyare pretty different machines in more than 1 sense. My personal opinion is that the bambino is a very capable machine and switching to the Gaggia will not necessarily be considered an upgrade....

Already have a Bambino and good grinder (DF64) but have thought about upgrading. I mostly drink lattes but sometimes I worry that's because I don't love the straight shots I pull with the Bambino....

not ideal. i have the same, and it doesnt get fine enough. and when it does, the steps are too big to dial in a shot. i just got a sette 270 refurb from baratza. the cheapest "good" espresso grinder...

My comparison mostly takes into account serviceability and build quality. I'd say all Breville coffee machines / appliances can be lumped together in that regard.
