Zojirishi is very good but much more expensive that this. I would say the made in Japan Tiger would be the next best. Cuckoo has a lot of models and the quality varies a lot.

It's actually entirely the opposite. We have the Tiger, and the inner lid is not removable. Only the little valve in the middle is removable.
