The 5800x isnt a great cpu, pair it with the far superior 5800x3d instead for gaming. Or step down to the 5700x or up to the 5900x beast which isnt that much more. As gamers nexus and others have...

Yea I usually do too. I never take changes on anything below "Like New" because I've had bad experiences with used but usually when it says "box will be damaged" it's unopened. I'm buying my stuff...

If it's sold by Amazon I almost always take the chance if the price is right. Got one for 181 used and while the probability of getting a dud chip is significant, I got lucky and mine works like a...

Not newegg but this deal is at Amazon too. I bought used like because the description said original packaging damaged box. Get the processor, still covered with thermal paste. Ffs. Does Amazon check...

Indeed, even consoles are going 8 core and that should be seen as new minimum core count - games are going there full time More cores can make games run better in ways mere FPS dont show We can do...

That's kinda debatable. The 5800X is 28% better than the 5600x in benchmarks. I think it really depends on your upgrade schedule. If you're going to keep the PC for a while. Spend the extra now and...

80c is fine for a 5800x, you need to reference the Max T Junction when it comes to CPU's. I have a i5-10500T which has a Tjmax of 100c. That's basically the boiling point of water, but it's OK, the...

Actually, I think I've saved quite a bit of money by not having a Microcenter nearby. Otherwise I'd be there every week picking up their "in store only" deals! :D

Like someone said you can look at the G series. I might be wrong but I thought I read that all the 7000 series CPU's will have integrated graphics too.

Thoughts on if this will keep dropping over the next few weeks or is this really a sale price? I have no reason to build a new PC but the drop in price has me wanting to get back in the game (been...

1 month is probably going to be before the expected Raptor Lake release (supposedly to be in October 2022.). I would wait till then to buy any CPU. I am expecting a minimum $20 drop on Alder Lake...

Great deal - in for 1. I have one already on my Plex machine. Paid $150 just a few months ago.

It's probably not worth the upgrade. I'd aim for the 5900x for the extra cores if you want to stay on AM4 socket however it just depends on your work load/what you're trying to do

5600X at sub $200 makes a lot more sense than 5800X for $100 more. There's a new AMD platform right on the horizon, so I'd hate to invest heavily in the soon-to-be-deprecated AM4 platform. If you...

Have had this CPU for the past year or so in my PC build, excellent all around CPU and power efficient too. It's now beaten by some others like the i5-10600, i7-10700, and 5800X3D. But at this price...

So you can get the 5700x for 275... But right now the better chip is the same price lol. Why would any one get a 5700x unless you live next to a MC? The performance difference is sometimes...
