Are you trying to compare choreographed dance/fight pieces in movies today with it? Maybe that’s the issue. Many people consider it so influential because it was the first look many foreigners had...

I think the point is the great deal on these movies. It doesn’t really matter that it’s criterion collection or not. Some folks like the cases etc in physical copies while some like spending 75% or...

Bought Seven Samurai and I must be missing something key after watching. The acting was poor, the characters bizarre, and the action laughable. Perhaps it’s one of those “you had to be there” sort of...

iTunes for years as well as many other people I know with thousands of digital movies. Never lost one single movie ever. Good luck. Also this thread is related to an iTunes sale so it’s irrelevant...

I hate watching movies with white subtitles. Unwatchable when watching a black and white movie.

It the streaming site loses the rights to stream the movie you bought. You lose the movie. Happens all the time with Amazon, but at least they give you credit if you call customer service.

The book that’s it’s based on is better. Russian sci-fi movies are too incoherent.

I enjoyed the book more than the movie as well. I actually think that the movie would work well with a Hollywood remake.

Great prices, obviously, but a big reason to buy Criterion is to own the nice physical copy so this type of offer is a bit counterintuitive.

I'm old enough to have read Roadside Picnic, the sci-fi novel it is based on. But this film is no picnic (pun intended) so if you prefer sci-fi stick with the book, if you dare look into the abyss...

Stalker isn't for everyone. I liked it, you liked it, but my wife would probably fall asleep if I put it on. The movie is very slow.

Criterion doesn't participate in Movies Anywhere. You can see if a movie is eligible by searching for it on Movies Anywhere. If it doesn't show up in the search, it isn't eligible.

You're not alone. I'm a fan of Criterion, but some movies I try to watch and I'm like 'WTH is this". Some can be a little too artsy fartsy for me.
