Is this the best price so far? I've gotten a few Philips hue products from Woot before as they tend to be cheaper but its hit or miss if or when they may have something. Wondering if I should wait.

If the investment cost was just the hub, I’d be fine. But it’s not. There is a significant price premium for every Hue product.

I never did figure out the use case for this light. You need a separate hub and $50 battery priced motion sensor? Youre better off buying a commercial quality RAD or invest in Ring Smart Lighting.

Been this price for a while. Bought this a couple weeks ago and it's going back. Love Hue stuff but this is not designed well. Needs a recessed junction box and then you need to use something to...

Depends on your camera. You're better off getting a starlight camera or a dc-powered infrared floodlight if you have the resolution but not the lighting you need.

Does this provide sufficient lighting for security cameras to clearly capture facial details at night?

Just replace the switch that a current floodlight is on with a $15 Wi-Fi smart plug and schedule the light

Don't you have the hub and devices though? At that point - aren't you invested in the ecosystem? TBH - the reason I haven't bought in despite liking some of their stuff is the need for the hub. ...

This is why I have no Hue devices. $50 for a motion sensor. I take that back. I have a couple but no way I’m investing in the ecosystem. Too much of a premium imo.

Hue sells a motion sensor. Not saying this shouldn't include it but it's part of the ecosystem at least. A lot of people will own at least one already if buying this.

Depends on what you want it for. I don’t care about the motion sensor, I just want something that comes on when I want (dusk to dawn, or later during holiday seasons when I have decorative lights). ...
