From what I read on bladeforums, this is 1075 steel even though it lists 1095.

I have this on my range belt with the esee 3 kydex holster w/tek-lok. It’s a great set up. Not sure if I’d edc this but for a range belt, truck knife, etc it’s perfect

You are very correct. I have the Esee 3 which is basically the same knife as Rat 3 and same steel as the Azula . Ive had to de-rust the edge a few times. It loses its razer sharpness quickly as well....

Check out midway. They had some ESEE 3s for not much more than this. If you are going to upgrade the sheath then the ESEE is the same price. ESEE QC is a great and the warranty is worth it alone.

I don't own a rat knife, but i do own a similar brand/type (Izula). These type of carbon knives rust. So they need maintenance. Like if you use it as a pocket knife and use it to cut up an apple...
