the biggest compatibility issue with am5 is the cooler must use the stock back plate, Any cooler that has you replace the backplate will not work as for am5 the cpu retention bracket directly screws...

I hear you. On the other hand, the 5900X is 30% cheaper using $500 to $350. IMHO, it's not worth it. You can pocket that cash towards your next build, a newer GPU, etc. Heck, you can get a sweet case...

If I can get a 5800X3D for $200 and sell my 5600x for like $120 I'd consider. But that will likely not come to pass, so I'll probably just wait a generation or two more for an inexpensive AM5 board...

Yup, they refused to price match. Which is insane, because now instead THEY will be paying for me to return it, plus whatever fees for processing a refund, and losing the sale entirely to newegg.

I got the 5900X from Amazon during Prime Day for $330. It's $350 right now. The 5950X was $550, which is not worth the price unless you are doing video production, rendering, etc.
