Only use DisplayLink dock as the last resort because it software DECELERATES performance. This laptop has USB-C DP ALT mode. Don't settle on the worse option.

Yes. Be sure that both laptop and USB-C hub/dock/adapter support DP 1.4 to have dual 4k on one USB-C. DP 1.2 supports dual monitors too but at lower resolution like 1080p.

If it is non-DP or TB, then it won't support video output natively. You can look up DisplayPort docks. They go way back in the USB 2.0 days. But they are expensive and the drivers are made by another...

Thunderbolt is not required. USB-C that supports DisplayPort "1.4" MST will do the job too. (Older DisplayPort 1.2 supports only 1)
