I had both LCD3 and X. They sound amazing with a good stand-alone headphone amp. Head-fi forums will give some suggestions on dac/amp combinations. Be prepared to spend some more doughs afterward.

Incredible price on LCD-X. Everyone ears are different, but most respected reviewers prefer the LCD-X over the Arya. At this price seemed like a no-brainer to me.
