I've had no issues with my RTX 2080 Ti I bought from this sale, or the 730 GT or 1030 GT I bought two years ago.
Considering the guy whose card failed in 30 minutes though, maybe I got lucky?...

The 1080 Ti held up pretty well, but the RX 6600 is a better buy today. There's a reason it didn't sell out as quickly as the 20 series cards.

I mean it's still a beast if you aren't ray tracing. If a 2080ti is only 80 bucks more I'm not sure why would you go with a 1080ti however.

After three years of mining baking at 75C+ Personally, I would plan on taking it apart and reapplying thermal paste upon receiving it.
Edit: Obviously creates warranty challenges.
