It's no powerhead - but it does a good job on carpets (not throw rugs.)

Bummer, however we will be mostly hard floors with rugs here and there, I can make due with the included upholstery attachment and when vacuuming rugs, I have to go backwards.

Many of these don't have HEPA filtration which is surprising given the high costs of them. Any vacuum cleaner above $200-250 should really have it. It might have been considered a feature in the past...
