What you're seeing isn't actually a blade, it's a holder for many of the offset blades that only take a small shaving off a section for that ~30° rotation of the cylindrical cutterhead.

I also have this jointer. Not a fan. Even with a dust collector attached to it, it gets clogged up inside with sawdust and ruins pieces. I just ordered a Wen to replace it.
