The best 4-core i-series laptops that do manage to get down to this sub-$300 price point are typically best used as desktop replacements (so with an external monitor or perhaps in a fixed/ideal setup...

Own this laptop. Very snappy performance. This i3 benchmarks better than some of the lower end i5's. I am disappointed by the battery life.though. The 9 hour battery life they market isn't even close.

I haven't bought a laptop in ages. Can I wipe out the OS and install a clean version of windows 10 on it and it will automatically activate??

Convert from Windows 11S to Windows 11 Home first. Then you can do a clean install of Win 11 home and it will stay activated. Not sure if activation will be automatic if you install Win 10 home.

Acer tech specs are HERE IMO, the HP is better with better CPU, IPS screen, backlit keyboard and slightly bigger battery capacity (need to look at this closer). There is a previous thread here...

The distinction I would make is that the lesser $250 laptop is at the median of the normal price (dual core i-series laptops regularly appear on Slickdeals between $200-300). However, quad core...

What I meant by memory is memory. If the laptop has two memory slots. You look at what type and speed the memory is on the stick in the laptop. Since it comes with one stick of 8GB sodimm DDR4. You...

Should matter a LOT as I consider the i3-1125G4 a sleeper CPU. I'd recommend the OP place the CPU model in the thread title. For many comparable deals the listing is left as "i3" in part to hide that...

These are some decent window laptops deals, but the screen are mostly TN which to me is a deal breaker. When combined with low nits, it really makes the exepreience crap. Colors are washed out unless...

I’m wondering the same. I see it has 1 USB C port, but not sure if it works for charging the laptop. If so, that would be awesome at this price point!

Like you, I vote meh on this deal, though incidentally, I disagree that "memory is memory". Generally, the biggest knock on this laptop is that it's not worth the cost of upgrading (now or later). ...
