Which Shark are you using? I had two of these Black and Deckers. The battery completely died on one unit after two years or very light use and the remaining one runs for maybe 2 minutes.

For whatever it’s worth, I’ve had mine for 5 years and never had an issue with the battery. I’ve bought several others as gifts without issue. But I do agree the battery is the most vulnerable part
