Im all about salt grinders, Ive found it seasons with just the right amount of salt ..I love it on potatoes. That being said this is a pretty small amount even for the price, I have a bigger one...

Yes they are. Just put the plastic in very hot water and you can pull it off with a little hand strength. Then dry completely, refill and push it back on.
